The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering solutions for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency claimed it's alarmed about the large range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a high range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The services stage developed for intervention ordeals a substantial influx of potential beneficiaries, which makes it hard with the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will read more mobilise additional sources to empower the servicing of all clients and maximize entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
